Worm harnesses and weight forward spinner presentations are effective patterns for producing trophy class walleye.Įarly and late season fishing offers awesome combination possibilities for multi-species angling. Walleyes enter the mouths of tributaries and their near-shore spawning grounds, making them vulnerable and easy to catch daytime and nighttime.ĭrift casting is extremely popular throughout the entire season with terrific results. Spring walleyes are in high demand starting the first week of April. Perch fishing offshore is popular and productive too. Near shore, we target walleyes and steelhead which are in their spawning seasons. Spring charters can be cold, but we run a fleet of heated and comfortable boats. Unlike many other states and inland walleye fisheries, the Ohio boundary of Lake Erie does not have a closed season on walleye. Our location in Port Clinton is considered to be the walleye capitol of the world. The western basin has long produced the largest yields of numbers and trophies. Lake Erie has more Walleye than any other body of water on the planet. Meanwhile, the eastern basin is deepest and most structure-filled, best suited for cold-water species. The central basin is deeper with less structure, averaging around 60 feet. The western basin is shallow and most fertile. The eastern basin finally extends from Erie, PA to the eastern edge of the lake in Buffalo, New York. The central basin then extends to the edge of the trenches in Erie, Pennsylvania. Mac-CARE encourages McMaster medical learners and residents to travel away from their Academic Home Base and live temporarily in the community in which they are undertaking a clinical rotation. The Mac-CARE Program is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) to support medical students and residents from the Michael G. Students are provided with living and travel allowances in eligible communities. Clinical teaching is provided by community-based preceptors (doctors), who are affiliated and integrated with the university. Mac-CARE provides the infrastructure to allow this community training to happen: temporary housing, hospital privileges, community contacts, and pagers (at some teaching sites). The Mac-CARE program provides the expertise and support to facilitate core and elective placements in Mac-CARE regions for learners of the Michael G. The network of DME sites is known collectively as Mac-CARE, McMaster Community and Rural Education.
The Distributed Medical Education (DME) at McMaster is organized primarily in two Medical Education Campuses (MECs), providing comprehensive medical education in the Waterloo Regional and Niagara Regional Campuses, as well as clinical rotations in four Clinical Education Campuses (CECs) in the Burlington, Grand Erie Six Nations, Halton and Osler sites.
